Recommended Posts

Hey guys, my 314H BGB has been leaking for a long time, so when the rear axle tube snapped in two, I decided that now is the time to fix it. all the parts are aftermarket except the gasket, and the bellville washers for the pinion bolt, here is a pictorial of the assembly..

Thanks all..

Johnmonkey the paint is RustOleum spray paint (Chevy Orange). I spray some into a cup than apply it with a small artists brush. the two coats took about twenty minutes. Then i spray some carb. cleaner on a rag and wipe off the bearing surfaces..

Great write up! It's amazing just how simple the BGB really is, but how crucial it is to the proper transfer of power. The end play and shimming process is as important as a proper rebuild. Kudos!
