Ron_B Posted January 18, 2002 Share Posted January 18, 2002 Is there pressure on the hydpaulic lines when the machine is shut down.I would like to top up my fluid for the loader.I have been told so many stories, about losing all my fluid, Would like to know the proper way. powermax_paul Posted January 18, 2002 Share Posted January 18, 2002 Ron, There shouldn't be any pressure on hydraulic lines if the loader and bucket are relaxed on the ground and the machine is shut down. If you open a hydraulic line below the reservoir level and theres a clear path to the opening, the oil could leak out thru the line. If you're talking about the loader on your 4041, you should be able to pull the pipe plug at the top of your upright anytime to add oil. (even if you're running) That pipe plug should be a vented plug with a hole thru it to allow the reservior to breath. The oil level should be about 4" (100 mm) from the top.
