Al 6 Posted January 18, 2002 I know many of you have commented about talking to Mike in service at Simplicity. Mike worked for the company for over 40 years. He retired last Summer. About 3 months later one of the people I deal with a lot at the company told me that Mike had been in to visit and had just found out he had a fast growing cancer. I was talking to them today and they told me he had passed away. About a month ago he was in to visit and spent about 2 or 3 hours visiting with old co-workers. It is with great sadness I bring this message. I have 20 years of dealing with Mike in various situations and always enjoyed him teaching service schools. Last year we went the night before and got together and had supper and sat around and "swapped lies" great evening. I will probably go early this year also because its 130 milas and I'm getting too old to get up that early and driive. It will be different. It is so sad when something like this happens, one just retired and getting ready to do some things and its over. I know this may not be significant to many, but I also know that there are a number of you who had personally dealt with him. Respectfully submitted, Al Eden
BradW 0 Posted January 18, 2002 I only spoke with Mike over the phone a few times. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. I have good thoughts of him. It’s always sad to hear of people who do not have a chance to enjoy their retirement. Thanks for the post.
AGCO918 0 Posted January 19, 2002 VERY SAD TO HEAR THIS. MIKE KNEW HIS STUFF.I had talked to him a few times on the phone when i had all the problems with my agco918. He sure will be missed by all who talked with him. THESE are the people who i hate to see pass away because they know so much about the products that they dealt with every day.YOU can tell them a problem and they know the answer before you can finish telling them the problem. I know this about mike first hand because he knew my problem and had a answer to it right away. agco918 chad e shafer
