Scarifier Question

Does the heavey duty dozer/snow blade have a scarifier attachment (accessory) available for it? I have a 1968 bolens 1050 and it has a scarifier (a scarifier has teeth that go below the bottom edge of a dozer blade to loosen packed gravel)after the gravel has been loosened the scraper blade is used to smooth the gravel. I was just wondering? Any help would be appreciated. John H

John, I've never seen mention of one. The Gannon Earthcavator rear blade had scarifiers on one side and a smooth edge on the other. Since the cutting edge bolts on, it would be fairly straignt-forward to make an edge with scarifiers and bolt it on to replace the original one. But, that wouldn't be somethiing you could change quickly when using it.... Sounds like you'd need to make something that fit closely over the existing edge and perhaps clamped on so it could be quickly removed. If you made a bracket that came around each end and allowed you to use bolts as set screws on the back side of the blade, that might work... Kent

John, I think a scarifier tooth on a rear blade would get more work done as you can pull a lot harder load than push. My first cup of coffee thought..MPH
