Wonder I'm still alive! We used one of them for a few years in late 60's early 70's. Worked good if I remember correctly. I've been trying to find a new one to display on one of our tractors.

DDT was somewhat less of a direct issue for humans than the for environment as a whole. DDT was most importantly linked to the decline of American Bald eagle population due to the ddt levels that were found in the eagles food supply (mainly ). This decline also prompted other studies that linked DDT to birth defects, and cancers IIRC, all of which led to DDT ban in the early 70's. The fogger was a good idea but the chemicals involved, not so much IMO!

To my knowledge they still make foggers and the juice to put in them. Just not the good ol' DDT.

My dad tells of his days in the service of how they fogged the mess tent wirh DDT with an apparatus hooked to the exhaust of a jeep.
