John_RI 8 Posted January 19, 2002 I'm only about 30 miles from Foxboro - and I'm glad I am! This will be our 1st real snow here in southern New England.
beamer 0 Posted January 19, 2002 This is great! I've been plowing snow with Allis Chalmers/Simplicities for years. Used a '64 Landlord, then a B-110 w/ hydraulic lift. Then graduated to Ford farm tractors (8N, '53 Golden Jubilee). I just came inside from using my Allis Chalmers 914 hydro, which I just bought in the Summer. I put 125 lbs of John Deere wheel weights and tire chains on it, with the 46" dozer blade. Boy, can that plow - I just wish that it had hydraulic lift!! These are the times good neighbors are remembered. My 75 year old lady next door, who is an absolute sweetheart got her driveway plowed and another neighbor - about 68 year old man, who complained about my '70 Chevelle SS396 and a Kohler K-301 without a muffler is still outside with his electric snow blower (ha,ha,ha!!) Sorry for seeming uncaring, but he is a real pain in the neck! Colin
powermax_paul 1 Posted January 19, 2002 Glad to see you guys out east will have something to plow/blow. We got almost 3" Wednesday. That was our first plowable for the season. Paul
Kent 436 Posted January 22, 2002 If you haven't noticed them, check out the two pictures on the Simple trACtors homepage that Dave Christensen just sent me -- his son (I presume) blowing this latest snowfall with a Simplicity... It may not be a ton a minute, but it's impressive! I was too late getting my blade/blower switched around. I'd been running my dozer blade on my Big Ten while I worked on the B-210, so I ended up plowing this one. Just yesterday, I swapped the blade over to the B-210 and put chains on its turf tires, and mounted the blower on the Big Ten... I'm ready now. BTW -- I can't believe how much easier it is to plow with a hydro in comparison to a manual. We got about 1"-2" yesterday for me to practice on... now I just need more practice. Habit makes me want to clutch it.... http://www.simpletractors.com/images/gallery_images/dlc_snow2.jpg
