pistons

found a beer flat on the shelf with a couple of pistons in it. two are marked '19', one has 3 1/4 chalked on it. there is the remnants of a box labeled '294676'.

anyone know which motor uses a 3 1/4 inch piston or which motor a 294676 fits?

Chris,

the 19 is a 3 inch bore and, yes, the number is 294676. so the box is not for the mystery piston but one of the others in the beer flat,(none of which has a box)

and damn the bad luck, one of the NOS pistons got dropped or run over...there is a flat spot on the skirt. might not affect the operation but then it might once the piston gets hot and expands

rats! will have to consider this one just a ring donor if my next rebuild is std bore

Searchd the net, and 294676 points to the 231401 Series Engine 9HP.

Of which there are no less than 300 model and type numbers!
