Float replacement

Recommended Posts

Tarheel

I have a carb that uses cork floats. The alcohol in gasoline seems to be ruining the coating on the floats and they become heavy before a season is out.

So I'm looking for a replacement "Body" in plastic or brass. The cork is 9/16ths or .562 tall, 2 inches and 3/64 O.D. and 7/8ths I.D.

If you know of something close, please post and I'll check it out. I'm also going to try a new factory float and either paint it with Por 15 or coat it in JB weld. (Both are said to cure this problem) But I'd still like to find the brass or plastic. Just seems a more permanent fix to me.

Thanks for any help

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
