Installing NOS front PTO

Guys,I'm installing a NOS front PTO on my AC 712H with Kohler 301. The PTO was for the Briggs engine because of the supplied bolts, otherwise, everything else should bolt right in. My problem is that the muffler is in the way when I try attaching the plate.

I hate to mess with the muffler, but I guess I'll have to. Any others have this issue?

Yes, I think you have to loosen up the muffler clamp points and wiggle it around till everything clears and it points back out the hole in the hood.

I just picked up a front clutch like that for the kids 3310h I repowered with a 16 briggs...so I got the same situation coming up here.

Thanks Sam...I did loosen the clamps and adjusted to work. My next problem is the key...shouldn't it slide on easy on the shaft? As you can see from this picture, I can't get it any further without beating on it. Any ideas?
