oil

for years I have not known exactly how much oil to have in the crankcase. I've kept it somewhere in the filler tube but not onto the threads for the cap.

today I decided to change the oil in the B-1 before taking it to the Flywheeler's show this week.

I have acquired the b&s booklet 'operating instructions' that covers all the model 19 variants. it says to fill to the top of the tube.

I have been running with low oil for years, but not dangerously low. I haven't opened up any of the engines that ran low so I don't know if they have suffered from it or not. and none have developed knocks or self destructed.

lucky, I guess.

I was told that those engines have a 4pint or 2quart oil capacity
