Steering question on a 17 GTH-L

Recommended Posts

TheLawnMowerMan

I have a 17 GTH-L and I have noticed that it steers farther to the right then it does to the left and was wondering why and if there's a way to fix it? My other 17 GTH-L doesn't have this problem, so it makes me believe something may have been taken apart and put back together wrong by the PO. It's too cold right now for me to investigate the issue and thought maybe someone on here may know the issue.

Sounds like it could be a bent steering rod or tie rod ends out of adjustment. If possible, try to park your tractors side by side and try to compare the two setups to see if you can spot the difference between the two of them.

I would focus on the steering rod for starters as a bent rod has been the main cause of the symptoms you describe on several tractors I have worked on in the past.

Best of luck.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
