curlett 1 Posted March 28, 2015 I was wondering if anyone knows if this engine will fit into the tractor I was looking at. I don't have any model numbers but just wondered what you guys think about this. GrincheyOne 52 Posted March 28, 2015 The tractor appears to be a Hydro!
BLT 718 Posted March 29, 2015 First of all, in my opinion, the tractor isn't worth more then $50 without engine. As far as the engine in question, it will bolt in but the muffler will have to be replaced for sure. Now,Simplicity has been historic for using standard crankshafts for the engine models and that is , I believe 1" X 3-5/32". With out a legible M/N and type number it is tough to tell what else. Burntime 1 Posted March 29, 2015 Bob, the deck will fetch more, then you have tires, etc... Personally I would look to a sovereign or something newer. But some really like that model.
720nut 4,225 Posted March 29, 2015 Seems to me that by the time you pay the buyers premium and shipping (depending on winning bid price) could become a very expensive engine. Just my .
curlett 1 Posted March 29, 2015 I'm hoping the engine won't be too expensive, I'm just going to see how the auction goes. I'm going to call the auction company and tomorrow and see if I can get the model and type of the engine.
