Will this engine work?

First of all, in my opinion, the tractor isn't worth more then $50 without engine. As far as the engine in question, it will bolt in but the muffler will have to be replaced for sure. Now,Simplicity has been historic for using standard crankshafts for the engine models and that is , I believe 1" X 3-5/32". With out a legible M/N and type number it is tough to tell what else.

Bob, the deck will fetch more, then you have tires, etc... Personally I would look to a sovereign or something newer. But some really like that model.

Seems to me that by the time you pay the buyers premium and shipping (depending on winning bid price) could become a very expensive engine. Just my $.02

I'm hoping the engine won't be too expensive, I'm just going to see how the auction goes. I'm going to call the auction company and tomorrow and see if I can get the model and type of the engine.
