Kohler Single cylinder identification?

I have a 7112h and a 912h, the 7112 has clearly been worked on internally or replaced as it has ornge silicone on several key locations. Also the dipstick is on the opposite side of engine and it's got a side drain plug instead of a bottom drain plug. Besides the engine cover with the hp rating and ID numbers is there any other way to tell what size engine and tractor it actually came out of?

If you look just above the output PTO shaft of the engine you will see the block number i.e. for a 12 hp it would be K301. 10hp=K241 or K301; 14hp=K321; 16hp=K341.
