I'm not sure what I bought this time..?

This load is from Three Oaks, Michigan. I bought both tractors as "parts tractors" with some extras. I thought I knew all the details but I've made a few discoveries since I got it all home. Tom "torquedoff" came over & found the surprise extra on the AC for me. I did see the nice non-oem part on the landlord? :D

The Briggs looks more like a 9 hp model 23. It has the early style "magna-matic" ignition system. The plow has a Wheel Horse slot hitch on it. Still looks like a good load to me.

Dan you are right. I thought it looked like the 9hp in my 64landlord because it has the metal coated wire to the point(tin cover) and the threaded in crankcase breather too.

Guys that belt guard looks oem but I know it cant be. Somebody spent some time on that..?

Here's what was found AFTER it got home:

-landlord has a 12hp engine...Nice (the grill is bent out to make room for the counterbalance cover}

-The plow is only an 8" not 10"

-the B212 has a tiller rear pto pulley assy...Nice! (just missing the flat pulley)

-the B212 also has a perfect "left side cover" tucked in (it wasnt there before, the seller found one & tucked it in while loading)...Nice!

-also learned the landlord has a newly rebuilt carb too, just before it was parked.

-B212 rear tires are sorta cool sm00?:o)

I thought this stuff would end up as parts on the shelves. But...the landlord is in pretty good condition except for the BGB, engine, fuel tank and a brushed on paint job.

I got another rough one from Josh last yr...maybe I'll make one good one from the two sm01

The B212 is hopeless with all the welding/cutting done to her XX( she will be Parts for 2 other B212's and a B112 I have waiting for resto's

Maybe it is...I started pulling this tractor apart and when I removed that odd gaurd I realized it is NOT homemade. It had to be a transplant from elsewhere..?

That belt guard look just like the belt guard on a 1970 Gilson made Montgomery Ward with a 14hp B&S

Briggs singles has belt gaurds in a variety of applications, but I have never seen one in Simp/AC parts diagrams. Greg, is that bolted to the engine or the tractor?Heres an example showing an oem Briggs:

Josh it is bolted to the tractor "firewall" (front of the battery box/dash support frame), Patrick nailed it. It looks just like this one.The guys I got this load from had lots of odd brands/parts/equip laying everywhere. They grabbed whatever would fit..? The reason for it was a smaller S/G pulley was used & made it stick out more so he covered it rather than install a shorter belt sm00

Here is a pic of early 60's Gilson Garden Mark, Squire 12 with a belt cover, looks like that could be it. (its forsale on craigslist near me, 400/runs great)
