Saw this on CL last night, seller stated that he felt the hydro pump/drive was wore out. Figured since it was only a few miles away that it couldn't hurt to go look at it this morning.Came home with tractor, 48" deck, newer 42" sno-thrower with hitch, lift rod and new belt, plastic wheel weights.I will be looking for some parts as I have found a few things that need fixing or replacing.Sometime in its life its been repowered as it no longer has a 19hp engine. It currently has a KT17S Series II.Any idea on its age ?

Nice looking rig!

id="quote">It didn't look this nice when I went to look at it, amazing what some water will do.I will be looking to buy a hydro lift lever as someone decided to weld the nuts on the inside of the frame. I also need a carb picture, specifically how the throttle and choke cables are routed, as they work as intended but in reverse. The knob pushed in is choke and pulled out is RUN. The throttle..........fast is slow and slow is fast.Me thinks the cables are routed to the wrong side of the carb linkages.

Hello, I have the 7119 1690638 with a KT17 series II engine. The engine dates to 1982 I thik the 7100 series tractors were first made in 1979 . someone else may have more knowledge.

I would be very surprised if the hydro was worn out. Check fluid levels, check the relief valves to make sure they are popped up, check the belt tension. Those Sundstrand pumps are usually the last thing to worry about, on the entire tractor!

id="quote">Winner Winner chicken dinner. As far as I can tell, the pump is fine. It was very low on fluid. Pretty sure the reason it was low because the filler cap has a small hole drilled through it and a cotter pin though that hole. Once the pump built heat and pressure the hydro fluid was pushed out that homemade vent in the filler tube cap.I assume they were trying to make a vent of some sort.....who knows ?

I assume you are referring to the KT17? You can look for used for the oil filter setup, or, I believe they are still available new from the dealer. Last time I checked was a few years back, but as I recall they were about 80 bux for the setup, new. Or, check for a blown Magnum or KT with the setup. For 80 bux you can buy a whole busted engine.

Based on color scheme and decals (if the same as original) I would say that it is about a 1981/82 tractor. It has the shallow dish steering wheel, but the black cowling.

Is the hydro filter remote or on the side of the transaxle.

By 1983 they came with the deep dish steering wheel, and hydro filter mounted on the side of the transaxle.
