RickS 117 Posted January 27, 2002 I don't know what the tractors are worth. But I know there is a web site for these tractors. Do a search for Power King on the web and you will find it. From what I remember these tractors are very sturdy. I would purchase the two tractors.
StinKy 0 Posted January 27, 2002 Friend of mine has Power King, also known as Economy. They are big and rugged. They're not too well known but arent too far behind A/C 620-720 weight class. That is the largest models. I checked out a Power King club a while ago on the internet but forgot where it is and didnt bookmark it but if you enter a search I'm sure you'll find it. JimV 0 Posted January 27, 2002 Th power kings bring good money. The early ones had wisconsin engines and went over to kohlers in later years. If you can get one with a loader grab it, in fact all of the power king impliments bring a good price. good luck

johnmonkey 4 Posted January 27, 2002 In 1973 my dad retired from the USAF after 30 years (30 missions over Germany as a co-pilot of a B-17 in WWII) and in his 27th year in service he was sent to Vietnam (50 miles south of the DMZ) in a town called Pho Bi (sp?) He bought 8 acres of land and a 1970 economy tractor with a belly mower, plow, and a cultivator. The man he bought the land from had a 1918 international harvester sickle-bar mower that we pulled behind to cut the grass on the property. ( I think we could cut a 8 foot path! ) The economy tractor had a hydraulic lift with a 14 HP Kohler engine. It was a fine running machine and I have fond memories going down to the land to cut grass and help out with the garden. I was about 13 years old and my father would let us drive the 1966 Crysler around the property.
Sandy 0 Posted January 27, 2002 I'm not that familiar with them myself. I think there is a a Power King Club on Yahoo though. About a year ago there was one for sale in the local classified paper here for $650. I called the guy immediately and it had been sold already. I'm thinking they are worth at least that in running condition but with aloader, well that's another story. They get pricey with those attachments. powermax_paul 1 Posted January 27, 2002 I've looked at the Powerking Tractors (the larger ones) and they are very similar to the Powermax series. I still have the brochure. About 5 years ago I purchased a Powerking 48" tiller that I use on my 9020's. The Powerking UT-620 has the same internal spline, 2000 RPM Pto and Cat"0" 3ph as the Powermax series. A few years ago, Powerking was making these larger tractors for Snapper as well. They looked Identical, but were the Snapper Red. What's really interesting is that the 60" mower deck offered with the Powerking tractor was a roller style like the Simplicity design. Paul
ccooke 0 Posted January 28, 2002 A place called the Tractor Barn in Mt. Pleasent,NC can tell you what they are worth. They sell parts, etc. for the Power King and have used equipment from time to time.I don't know the ph. number right off but I am sure you can find it.They have a web page on one of the links from SL&G home page. Power Kings are good tractors and were very popular a few years ago.Several people in NC collect them now and they bring good money. They don't only collect them, they use them.I have an 83 model 2414 and mow and plow with it all the time.I think their popularity faded some because the company that made them was sold several times and I am not sure if they are manufactured anymore. If you pick up one and get it running, you won't be disappointed.
