Deck height question

As we all love the stripes, I believe most would like a bit more cut height on the grass. I know keep tire pressure to high side, make sure rollers are not worn and the like. But after pulling the spindle off my 38" for the 46" deck, thought of an idea. Put a metal spacer on top of the deck, raising the arbor / blade inside the deck for more cut height. Perhaps 1/4 or 3/8 might be some help. but having a ring with all the correct holes would be easy to make. Just not sure if that would be enough height to help. Don't think the belt angle would be changed that much. My .02 idea...
