hi everyone i am new to your message board and just purchased a 7119.i hated to see this tractor just sitting and rusting away so i had to have it. i rescued a 1964 wheel horse about 2 years ago and did by best to restore and it came out pretty good.at the time i used the wheel horse board for valuable info and they were all very helpfull. i didnt hesitate to buy the 7119 because of the support i could get from folks like you. well anyway its a 1981 model with a kholer magnum 20 that has thrown a rod from what i understand a 19 was the origanal motor.i have the engine apart,i was wondering if another motor would work sent off for the manuals and it shows a v-twin in one of the photos? these engines are expensive (kholer magnums) Just would like everyones opinon on my options.i can locate a cub cadet tractor model 72 with the k-161 motor if someone wants to trade? the rest of the tractor is in very good condition new seat light surface rust still has the origanal headlights is a hydro and has bar tires.the tractor has no dents or rust holes it came with a very good three bladed deck.please if anyone can help me out email me or post remember i can trade the cub for something thanks to everyone in advance that can comment.

If you do a search for "Johnn", you'll find the whole story of putting a K341 in to a 7117H I'll write back later.

You can find the Kohler "Command-18" V-twin cheaper than the opposed twin M20. It will work in your 7119. The M18 and M20 are still available but are about $1,600+. The CH18 is about $1300. What I don't know is, if a short block for the M20s are available and what the price is. Check out the short block. Good Luck! Mike S.

If you have the engine apart you can evaluate how bad the damage is from the thrown rod. I have welded up a couple of these engine blocks with good results. Tim
