I put a electric fuel pump on the 4041 the other day had problem that it would not pump fuel. Put the pump below tank and then it pumped fine but today I went to cut the grass and found gas coming out the carb . Any body have this problem and what did you do to fix it. I do have the by pass hose hooked up It is a low pressure pump 2 to 4 pounds of pressure

.

....I put a Mikuni Impulse Fuel Pump on my Landlord, and because

it's a "gravity feed carb", I split the fuel outlet and ran a

bypass line, shunting excess fuel flow up into the top of the

fuel tank.....The carb still thinks it's being fed by gravity...

It has resulted in a much better running tractor, because the

carb thinks it's being fed from a "Full Tank of Fuel" all the

time, and there's no excess pump pressures to deal with...

It maybe that the float is sticking. I would pull carb off clean it out and see if that solves your problem. I have elec. fuel pumps on all 4 of my Pmax's and have not had any problems. One time I hooked up the wrong line from the tank to the pump and it would not pump the fuel, I switched the lines and it work good.
