ToddS 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Hello, I'm trying to locate a good source for the sheet metal nuts that are used to mount the rear fenders to the seat deck on a Simplicity 2012. (The same fender configuration as the B-10, B-12, etc.) They look to be S-Nuts. I have located J-Nuts and U-Nuts which might work OK (I'll have to investigate) but I would really like to use the stock clip type. I have checked into MSC Industrial and McMaster-Carr and have only found the U and J Nut style in the sheet metal screw type. The S-Nuts are available from McMaster-Carr in machine screw type only. I understand that Auveco manufactures many different clip styles. Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful finding any parts store that has even heard of them before. Any help with a good source would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Todd Sweeney
Guest Posted January 29, 2002 Look in Thomas Register of American Manufacturers under "S" nuts. I think they are online. If you can't find a manufacturer there then one probably doesn't exist!
Sandy 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Are they still available from Simplicity?
ToddS 0 Posted January 30, 2002 Herb, I should have probably checked there first. I guess I wanted to cut to the chase and find Simplicity's vender so I could order in higher quantity and most likely at lower cost per/piece. This is actually the only machine I own that I don't have a part's manual for. I'll have to order one soon. In the meantime does anyone have the part number for the clip and corresponding screw readily available? Dan, Good idea on Thomasregister.com I did check that out but haven't located anything yet. I'll have to look more thoroughly. Thanks, Todd Sweeney
