BradW 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Shuttle can be a great thing if properly adjusted, if you like the direct drive power shuttle is great as long as adjusted, we have it on a '56 Case 300 Utillity and is great for a loader, per say you leave it in 2nd gear for scooping sheep manure, all you do is push in the clutch, push the shuttle lever back and your in reverse! No shifting gears for forward and reverse, basically "Poor Man's Hydro" or anti-shifters dream either way a shuttle is not bad if maintained. As for the pool...I am guessing 650 without meeting reserve. -BradW

Kent 436 Posted January 29, 2002 What will this one go for? One owner, used for 4 years, with tiller and snowblower -- but it is a shuttle.... Bet the snowblower wasn't used too much in Orlando.... Who's going to see Mickey soon? Could be a good deal. What will this one bring?[A href='http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=601351162&r=0&t=0'][img src='http://abacus.sj.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_5e637d73ebab41b8b95b77f15d/i-4.JPG'][/a]
powermax_paul 1 Posted January 29, 2002 Michael, Let's wait until the auction is over. If it doesn't receive any bids, I'll explain why that was my guess. If it does, my reasons won't matter.
Nubian 3 Posted January 29, 2002 It will always matter Dutch, I'm as curious as everyone else as to your line of thinking whether it gets a bid or not.

MichaelGT 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Kent, Please describe why you made the comment on the shuttle. I am familiar with the Hydro. Herb, Why do you think no bids? John, You can find the tractors in a few places. I go to ebay home page, select house & garden, select garden, and then do a keyword search on "simplicity" in garden only. I also select ebay motors and keyword search on "simplicity". Hope this helps! Michael
Kent 436 Posted January 29, 2002 A shuttle shift is a mechanical (not hydrostatic) 4-speed in either forward or reverse, and direction is changed with the "shuttle." It was a good idea, but after years of wear they become very troublesome to keep adjusted, I understand -- though I have no firsthand experience. There may be parts availability problems also.... They weren't used for very long. Some new imported ag tractors still use a shuttle shift in their lower-end machines, since they cost quite a bit less than a hydro.... As far as finding them, I have a "My eBay" page where I have several stored searches, including: allis garden allis lawn allis mower simplicity tractor simplicity mower montgomery tractor homelite tractor You can have the results of any three of your searches emailed to you daily, telling you only what has been added to eBay within the last 24 hours....
