Sovereign to 900 redo

Recommended Posts

I picked up a Simplicity Sovereign a month ago with the highly acclaimed Kohler Triad 18 engine (cough cough)..It was leaking oil bad around the valve covers..My dad found the solution for that issue!..In any event, being a diehard AC guy, I decided to redo it into an Allis Chalmers 900..Basically did a frame off redo..Thanks to Nate and Vintage Graphics for the custom headlight decal as well as hood decals..Overall pretty happy with the results...Still has the simplicity steering wheel!..With the square headlights also guess you can call it a hybrid!!!!...:D

Thanks everyone for the nice words....

Bill, the biggest issue with this engine is leaking valve covers what we found is, even brand new the valve covers are perfectly flat..so first thing we did was lay them on a piece of glass and light saND paper and work it until all surfaces hit..next thing we do is replace the fuel pump with a vacuum pump...last thing we do is coat the valve gaskets with permatex before installing them..so far thsee steps seem to resolve the leaking covers

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
