Can anyone Identify this Sickle Bar

Recommended Posts

beamer
I got this modified sickle and a minature size hay rake for a fellow in Ill. It was adapted to fit a B1 from a previous owner. Can anyone identify its origination? It has red paint under the blue. Thanks Beamer http://simpletractors.com/transfer/images/mb_sickle.jpg

From what I was told the guy built most of the equipment from scrap using as much existing pieces as possible. The rake at close inspection seems to be homemade. Its all welded including the grease nipples. The cycle looks like the rear bars, pulley and clutch assembly is home made. Beamer

As it was told to me..The pulleys went under the tractor in line with the front PTO. The guy also had a hay bailer that made 24" bails of hay...I'd like to have that. Anyway, the sickle is only 30" long or so. If someone was interested I might consider partingit out. The rake works great for cut tall grass. It needs some rust-oring, oiling, and a new belt. I'll probably keep it. Here is a picture of it. Looks to me like both have been revamped to accomodate "belt drives" and were at one time "horse-drawn" equipment.. Nice pieces though-interesting to see.
