muffler for 7117

Recommended Posts

After looking for over a year I have finally found a solid and in good running condition KT17 (series 2) to put in my 7117. Will the muffler from a series 1 (part #1666923) fit a series 2? I would think it would but want to make sure before I spend $200 plus....ouch!! I have found an original heat shield for the engine although it does have a very small crack on the left side. Also need a starter. Seen a ton of them on eBay but wasn't sure which would be the best one to go with. Thanks, Ryan

The muffler should work for either a series 1 or 2. Same basic engine, internal differances like the full pressure oil lubrication in the series 2. Exhaust manifold locations would be the same on either engine or even the Magnum 18 that followed the KT17 series 2. Mike

I have bought and used the new after market starters found on e-bay and it works good. I think I paid around $50 for it.

I think it would be hard to find a heat shield for the KT engines that is not cracked.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
