Idler pulley, 60" mower deck

Recommended Posts

My sunstar tractor has a 60" mower deck, #1690984.

I am trying to figure out the correct way the idler pulley should work and how the idler pulley, spring and things should be installed.

Any one have any info on this.

Simpliciity parts manual is of little help.

Looking atthe deck from the front, the belt is straight acrross the rear of the two outward pulleys the belt wraps around the left pulley and goes to the center and wraps inward to the idle pulley, it wraps around the backside of the idler , then continues to the right pulley.

I know how the belt goes on. I've looked at the diagram of the idler Pulley, and the parts manual.

Problem, it does not look life the setup of my deck.

Any one have a picture of the pulleys on a 60 inch deck.

Especially where should I align the belt guide next to the idler pulley.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
