country 0 Posted August 24, 2015 Well, inspite of the fact it needs some minor work, I'm happy with the Agco 2020 (AKA, Simplicity Legacy) so far, mostly. However, I wish I had done some more homework before I bought it. I was looking at that and an Agco 1720H. The 1720H is closer to a newer version of my AC917H. I could have used the sleeve hitch from my 917, I'm not sure if the front blade would fit or not. After seeing how expensive the attachments are for the 2020 (or Legacy tractors), I'm wondering if I made the best decision. I use the sleeve hitch with a chain rather frequently to lift/move items that are heavy enough I don't want to pick up. The front blade I use mostly for snow removal. After pricing these items in the classifieds, and seeing the manual front blade at $425, and the three point hitch at over $600, I'm afraid I just got a good deal on a glorified lawn mower that I can't reasonably afford attachments for. Unfortunately, I don't have the room to keep both tractors, or I would. Has anyone made a 3 point hitch for these at a much more reasonable cost than buying one used? The ladder sub-frame for the front blade also has me baffled at the time, I haven't found pictures or descriptions that show what it is for, or how it functions. Being used to my 917, I attach the blade and lift rod and off I go, no sub-frame needed. Can anyone explain this, possibly with pictures also?
RedbarnRick 5 Posted August 24, 2015 First let me say you stepped up to the top of the line tractor, that said the attachments are heavier duty than the smaller garden tractors, and designed to mimic full size farm tractors, The subframe is used to lower the attachment point and provide a solid mount for the 60 inch blade, a similar subframe is used on the loaders like my Kwikway, actually I think the 1720H also uses a subframe for the blade, I know my 1717h Landlord had a subframe for the blade, Here's a link to the attachments for these tractors this will explain a lot. .http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/jgEDGP_drM6tG5Exj7mRgtLvBCd6.pdf If you really don't want this tractor let me know, I'll take it off your hands, and I have a 48 inch deck thats;s in great shape, I have a 3416 and 7016 waiting to be assembled but I am totally spoiled by my legacy.
