Guest Posted February 2, 2002 I own a a.c. Bee 12. I do not see too much about them. But do see a lot of on B-10. Are they rare? Was there more B-10 made?
Kent 436 Posted February 2, 2002 I can't document it, but I think there were significantly more B-10s made. The B-12 cost $100-$125 more, which was quite a bit of money in those days -- about the price of a 42" deck, which must be purchased separately. Also understand that the B-12 wasn't made for long -- maybe a little over a year in the 1966-1967 timeframe. They were quickly replaced by the B-112. In comparison, the early B-10 (9HP) was made in 1963 through the same time as dropping the B-10/B-12 (assuming the Big Ten is essentially a B-10 with different decals). Is it rare? Can't say that it is as rare as a B-1, HB112 or HB212, but they certainly aren't all that common either.
