Woodydel 0 Posted February 4, 2002 Don't give out any awards for guessing yet. The reserve was set at $1900.?! He'll take $1600.!? Woody
Kent 436 Posted February 4, 2002 Hey -- since Pat said that bids would stop at $900 and that that wouldn't be enough -- that's pretty dang close... Sounds like he's our psychic, though, instead of our appraiser....
Kent 436 Posted February 4, 2002 Pat wins this "pool" on estimating the price of eBay items. On this one-owner AC 712S with apparently low hours, he said $900 and reserve wouldn't be met -- the bids actually went to $920 and the reserve wasn't met... I think Pat is about to become either the club's "official appraiser" or "resident psychic" -- I'm not sure which... ;-) Kent[A href='http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=601351162&r=0&t=0'][img src='http://abacus.sj.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_5e637d73ebab41b8b95b77f15d/i-1.JPG'][/a]
Dutch 4 Posted February 4, 2002 I guessed this tractor wouldn’t receive any bids. Boy, was I wrong ! A couple of members asked me to explain the reasons for my guess. Since the tractor didn’t sell, here they are: 1) Shuttle transmissions not popular. 2) Figured with the snowblower, potential buyers would be several hundred miles away (shipping costs high). 3) Seller didn’t post photos of attachments. 4) Seller’s description brief & “weak”. 5) Seller claims tractor used only 4 years (parked 22 years?), yet seat has been “reupholstered” with ill-fitting cover. Appears to have bungee cord connected from steering rod to running board. On the other hand, tractor appears to be clean and original, and prices for Simplicity products seem to be rising. Good news for us owners.
Woodydel 0 Posted February 4, 2002 This is the other "stuff" that comes with it. Note: snowblower is perfect. I worked out shipping on all of it to NY for $290. and he and his sons would put items in my crate for me and take to Forward Air... I was hoping for a real bargain so held off. Dutch 4 Posted February 4, 2002 Woody, Those attachments are nice! The snowthrower doesn't appear to have ever been used. Does the tractor have the engine mounted clutch? Seller should have posted those photos in eBay ad.
Woodydel 0 Posted February 4, 2002 The snowblower is set up to be powered from the front of the tractor and I'm assuming the clutch is there. The photos I have make the attachments look even better. I cut the resolution down... Woody
PatRarick 1 Posted February 6, 2002 When it comes to my tractors, my wife feels that "psycho" is much more appropriate than "psychic". Pat
