GrincheyOne 52 Posted October 4, 2015 I would say; -Flush the oil sump with kerosene -Fresh oil (in 8 months moisture can build up in the sump. -1 tsp of ATF fluid in spark plug hole, to lube the valves. -Fresh fuel with a dose of Sea-Foam. -pull short shroud over head*, and check for "critter condos" -remove ooints cover and dry out any moisture, clean points. *you will get a peek into the air chamber from there. It appears (from photos) that the front lift rod (blade) is there Is there a front counterweight(for tiller),and/or rear counterweight(for blade). Rear wheel weights? GR8 price/yield for the package. Best of luck with that "workhorse"

casinojim 83 Posted October 5, 2015 can anyone tell me the year and if anything is missing i did not see any weights for but he did tell after the rebuild the front wheels would come dam near come off the ground looks like a bad rattle can paint on the wheels and dash thanks for the info guys!!! keep it coming
Simplicity7013H 95 Posted October 5, 2015 According to the SimpleTractrors data base, the 101 Landlord should be a 1966. I think it has the 32" deck. Dont know if these on a Landlord were rare but it does show them in my 1964 sales brochure. Besides the paint it looks promising.
Simplicity7013H 95 Posted October 5, 2015 GRR! What's up here! The simple tractors page says the 101 was in 1966 but the made when table shows that the 101 was 1965 and the 2010 was 1966. So, until sobody confirms either one, I don't know what to say. Your model number shows up as a 1965 101 landlord.
casinojim 83 Posted October 5, 2015 Cool thanks hoping he can find some papers on it
MrSteele 492 Posted October 6, 2015 Have one just like it, with a mower deck only. The serial number said 1965 as year of manufacture, I think. Mine has a 42" deck. For a mower, you have a work horse, can't say anything about other implements, as I am still looking for some. Hard to find in the sunny south. Enjoy yourself! dentwizz 6 Posted October 7, 2015 Another item to put on the pre-fire list is to take the front shaft cover off the engine and oil up the crank/rod journal. It might have enogh oil on it but not always. If it doesn't it can risk the rod.
casinojim 83 Posted October 8, 2015 Set up time for noon and he has the owners manual and commented on what great shape it was in for it's age! Will this work with it
casinojim 83 Posted October 9, 2015 I have it for sale but no seem to want it. but if it will work on the 101 it would make a good package and will the front blade fit my 3314v
casinojim 83 Posted October 11, 2015 Got it The story is dad got it new with tiller and front blade the original 10hp had a score cylinder and the shop had a completely rebuilt one that a customer never picked up. 20 min checking/and cleaning fresh gas and runs GREAT! And are the wheels supposed to come off the ground scared theout of me??? all gears work fine took it out in the field ran around chasing my chickens for 10-20 minutes love it! The gas tank in it is not original to it but he gave me too extras told me they were rusty inside and throttle is a little sticky carburetor leaks a little bit of gas but all in all I think I did ok for a hundred bucks
casinojim 83 Posted October 11, 2015 Just had to put them on! which tank is the right one? and not sure why I got Kohler manual? the deck is apart the main spindle don't even think I will use it. this I all the stuff I got with on the right hand side of manual some wrote 1966?? One more thing seems be discharging at - 8 and rear end is covered in oil/grease and having trouble putting on the hood will do some manual reading at work
Simplicity7013H 95 Posted October 12, 2015 Wow! That's really neat. I also have all of the papers for my landlord it's always neat to buy from the original owners. The tank with the caution decal on it is the correct one.
