wood chippe simplicity ??

It looks right, but maybe do some research. I may be wrong, but I believe there are two types. If I am not mistaken, there is a chipper and a shreader. They do produce different by-products. A shreader, as I recall hearing, kind of just leaves a bunch of ......well, shreaded up stuff. If you are truly looking for chips like you might put in your garden, then you would be disappointed. If you just want the attachment because you just want the attachment, good for you! Nice find. I had/have a few those "I have no use for this really, but I gotta have it" attachments myself!

That is the chipper-shredder version, and yes it has the Simplicity hitch. Does it include the mule drive?

I was thinking of buying one of those a while back but it was a nearly 4 hour drive each way. Even at a good price sometimes the savings is not worth the time lost.

It would be fairly straightforward to make one work on the back of the tractor with a bit of fabrication for a mount but again, time invested is worth more than money invested sometimes.

The chippers and shredders are manufactured not far from me in Parkerford Pa. I was unfortunate in only finding a shredder at the local mower salvage yard, But for about $100 What-the-hay! It had a complete mule drive. It is driven off the 3" BGB pulley, and takes (I think) a 1/2-75" belt. for best results run the tractor at near full throttle.

I found it quite useful in pulverizing the mounds of bark I get from harvesting firewood. It also works well on other dry material EG leaves, shall brush, etc. there are multiple output screens to provide a means to determine the granularity of the end product. It does well to sharpen the "hammers" once each year. each one has four sides, so they will last a while. McKissac makes a combination chipper-shredder.

the chipper (single blade) is a flywheel style that feeds into the shredder. the mule drive is very similar to that for a tiller.

I have 16"x38' ash to process, and that should yield about 3 or more bushels of product.dOd
