PatRarick 1 Posted February 8, 2002 Yes, the timing can cause the engine to overheat and die. The spark is generated at the insant the points crack open. If the points are set too close, the spark will come too early. Too far apart, and the spark is too late. Either situation can cause overheating. Pat Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
jeff 0 Posted February 8, 2002 My friend wanted to thank everyone who responded to my earlier question about his k241 engine problem. He has one more question.
