Chute lubricant?

What's the best chute lubricant to use on a SS blower? We are getting wet snow on warm ground and there is an inch or two of slush that is clogging my chute. Silicon spray on the auger and chute? What are you using to throw the wet stuff?

I use silicon spray on the auger and chute here in SE PA where we get a lot of wet snow.

It definitely helps, but if you bog down, you'll plug. Keep the RPM's up and you should be OK.

I use car wax or mo-deck/sno-jet lube spray. Also really key to have the paint smooth and fresh. Even if you can't repaint it in time, a wet sanding followed by heavy waxing makes a ton of difference.

first i sand the shute then i put 3 coats of paint on it after it dries i put 3 coats of wax on it but i never wipe it off i just keep applying coats.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, too cold for sanding and paint so I'll spray away this season. The wet stuff we had was constantly plugging up the chute - no fun.

Heat up some wax and slather it in the chute. I use old fashioned Carnauba wax on the leading edges and in the throat of my blower. It lasts all season. In the spring, I'll wax it up again when I do the maintenance before I put it away.

I have been using silicone spray but when you have that wet heavy slush it just does not stay on very long and you have to keep applying it.

Wax is likely to stay on longer.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
