HB212 Paint

Hi..I recently was able to purchase an Allis Chalmer HB212 tractor that my dad originally purchased new, I believe in 1970...He sold it to my grandfather in 1971 and purchased a 300 series..My grandfather traded it in 1977 and purchased a 700 series..The gentleman who purchased it in 1977 has own it since...We knew he had it and I told him if/when he was ready to sell to let me know. Well this past week we received the call he was ready...Overall it's in great shape. Grill and chrome sides are perfect..No rust at all on tractor...Just wear and tear on paint and decals on a tractor over 40 years old!!..I want to repaint it but want the color to be as close to original yellow as possible. Does anyone any spray can paint that duplicates the HB212 color?.. appreciate any help!!!...Take care.... Dave

Here is what I have been using, but then its through a spray gun rather than cans. It definitely looks better than what I have done with cans.

Thanks for the info...Was looking for something in spray cans..Not sure if Simplicity makes yellow#3 still or not..I know they still make the orange used on the 400 series..I read other places that John Deere new industrial is a good match..Seem sacrilegious though to use anything called John Deere on an AC!!!..haha...

I used a Valspar equipment yellow in spray cans on my B-212. I think it was fairly close to the factory shade. The tractor was pretty well faded and nearly gone when I got it, so no certainty.

Ace hardware "rust stop" in Equipment yellow is good too, it's a little less (golden, Beige, lighter?) Hard to describe.

I think you can still special order a variant of the B-Series yellow from Van Sickle. A case of cans would be the minimum order the last time I checked. Simplicity has never offered the B-Series yellow paint, at least not in any of my parts guides going back into the early '80s. The AC colors had to be purchased through Allis Chalmers at the time and AGCO does not offer the correct yellow today.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
