OrangeMetalGuy 37 Posted December 4, 2015 Going to change the filter on my 716H. It's the remote type up near the BGB. I plan to use the Wix filter. Question, assuming I fill the new filter with fluid before installing and check the trans fill level again, I shouldn't have any problems getting the pump to prime right? Only reason I ask is when I installed a hydro rear end in another tractor some time ago, it took a long, long time to get it to start turning the output gear. Thanks! Tonyvdb 1 Posted December 4, 2015 I have a 7117 with the remote filter and it starts pumping right away if I just change the filter. When I changed all the trans fluid I picked up the rear wheels and let it run a couple minutes. It was slow at first but after about a minute it started going pretty good. And yes fill the filter before installing.
