716H Trans filter change question

Recommended Posts

Going to change the filter on my 716H. It's the remote type up near the BGB.

I plan to use the Wix filter.

Question, assuming I fill the new filter with fluid before installing and check the trans fill level again, I shouldn't have any problems getting the pump to prime right? Only reason I ask is when I installed a hydro rear end in another tractor some time ago, it took a long, long time to get it to start turning the output gear.

I have a 7117 with the remote filter and it starts pumping right away if I just change the filter. When I changed all the trans fluid I picked up the rear wheels and let it run a couple minutes. It was slow at first but after about a minute it started going pretty good. And yes fill the filter before installing.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁

It's in pretty sad shape, but yes I have a yellow plastic cap that I'm fairly certain is what you need. PM me your details and I'll get it out to you.
