Dutch 4 Posted February 10, 2002 To me, the term “Pressurized Oil System” means pumping oil from the crankcase through every moving part of an engine. Some manufacturers’ specs seem cleverly worded, as though oil is pumped through a filter under pressure, but moving parts are not pressure lubricated. Any comments? PatRarick 1 Posted February 10, 2002 I know which manufacturer you are speaking of. "Cleverly worded" is the phrase I would use also. They do not claim pressurized oil system. They call it "pressurized lubrication", if the moving parts are lubricated by oil pressurized by an oil pump. They call it "pressurized FILTRATION", when the oil pump simply pumps the oil through the oil filter only. I think they could clarify this a little better, if they wanted to. Just another selling point in my opinion. Pat

StinKy 0 Posted February 10, 2002 I have some really steep hills on my property and always used a Lawnboy brand walk behind mower witht a 2 cycle engine. Infact the hills are so steep its all I can do to keep the lawn mower from tipping over in some area's. So it was time to purchase a new mower and after doing alot of looking and asking questions about what mowers could be used on such steep inclines - I was sold another Lawnboy with the 2 cycle engine. Point being as of 3 years ago there were no engines that were able to keep an engine lubed on my type of incline. So even though these tractor engines have oil filters means nothing in regard to running them on any incline for any period of time nor a walk behind mower. All engines have a pressurized oil system just leave the oil dip stick out one time and start the engine and you will have oil blown out everywhere even though they are a spash oil lube system. A pressurized system is one that has oil gallies running to area's of an engine that actually lubercates all moving parts regardless of what type of incline the engine is on as long as the {oil pump} can pickup oil to lubercate the engine. Just my opinion even if it may be mixed up somewhat lol. >>->happyjack<-<<
