MarksA-C 93 Posted December 15, 2015 I have been after this thing for MONTHS. Finally got the cash together, tracked the guy down, and brought it home! Tracks are in great shape, chain seems decent, sprockets aren't overly worn, but there is no engine and its been hacked up a bit. MORE than savable in my opinion. It also has a Jacobsen hydraulic lift in it. It was mounted and running off the engine to control the plow at one point. Cleaned up and remounted properly it would be a cool little attachment to have.I got a sweet low hours 8hp Kohler with it that is gear start and has a stator. I think it would fit perfectly and have enough power to run the lift as well. Going to need a LOT of welding and grinding, a few pulleys, engine cover, maybe some lights, etc. Going to be a sweet build!

Talntedmrgreen 1,978 Posted December 16, 2015 Very cool! Ive always wanted to try one. A little diesel would be a real nice treat.
SmilinSam 4,031 Posted December 16, 2015 I had one, it was fun to play with. Only thing I didn't like was one track of the other would come off in a turn on grass. Didn't seem to have that trouble in bare dirt. Would surprisingly push quite a pile of loose dirt up. You will have fun with itdOd
MarksA-C 93 Posted December 16, 2015 The 8hp Kohler is going into the Struck. The other engine is a 24.5ho Kubota gas engine that I picked up cheap to swap into my Ford LGT195 project.
MPH 12 Posted December 16, 2015 The 8hp sounds about half size to me. They are neat machines, have fun with it.
PGL 438 Posted December 17, 2015 Struck supplies its current diy crawler with a b&s 1150 - 250 cc engine so your engine should be close or better than its output.
phillobbezoo 139 Posted December 17, 2015 Those things are sweet!! I Would love to have one to play around with
steve-wis 637 Posted December 17, 2015 Mark, I have also kind of wanted one for a long time, although I really have no use for one. They look like they would be so much fun! I saw one a few years ago at the Baraboo Wisconsin tractor show with a moldboard plow mounted on the back. I bet plowing with it would be great! Good luck with yours, please post pics as you work on it! Steve
MarksA-C 93 Posted December 18, 2015 I went over to my friend house and the guy is a hoarder. HE buys EVERYTHING. He has 2 crawlers, 1 struck and one mighty mouse plus a Struck tractor. SO, bugged him to look through his manuals. BAM! A whole folder of them. He sold me a few duplicates that he has.

plastikosmd 975 Posted December 21, 2015 Nice, I have a soft spot for crawlers. Careful, they are like kids. They start small but then get bigger, ornery and expensive!
tweinke 10 Posted December 25, 2015 I would love to find one of those. Thinking were I am it will be a long search.
