Bruker 2 Posted December 20, 2015 It looks like I need to replace a couple of front wheel bearings on my Prestige. Where's a good source?
Bill725 1,173 Posted December 20, 2015 I purchase bearings at a bearing supply house. I use good bearings as the Chinese are not quality and do not last long. I suggest checking to see if you can replace the bearings caps with bearing buddies commonly used on boat trailers. Make them easy to grease. Just measure the diameter that fits in the wheel. You will also have to fill the space between the inner and outer bearing with grease when servicing.
Bruker 2 Posted December 20, 2015 I have yet to remove the bearings. Do you know what the OD and width is? Are these what I'm looking for? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-New-25mm-Ball-Bearings-for-John-Deere-Lawn-Garden-Tractor-Front-Wheel-Rim-/221551189495?hash=item33957addf7:g:XWoAAOSwDk5UGLIg
PhanDad 3,613 Posted December 20, 2015 From reading this post, it sounds like Simplicity went away from a "standard", popular bearing for the front wheels like used in the Sovereign. I picked up some Timken "made in the USA" bearings last month for the 7016H I picked up in September. They were $6.96 for a set (bearing and race) at the local auto parts store. So why the need to change? Only metric tooling available?
MikeES 458 Posted December 20, 2015 Does the Prestige have tapered roller bearings?? Or are they ball bearings like the Conquest?
RayS 79 Posted December 21, 2015 They have ball bearings according to parts manual.

Bruker 2 Posted December 21, 2015 Only the two inboard bearings on the tires need replaced, the outer one are just fine. I ordered a set of bearings as show in the e-bay link above.
