Replacement Batteries

I'm curious if any of the club members have ever found a good battery to fit a 2210 or like model tractor that's a direct factory replacement without having to use the ol' block of wood? I've never had any luck myself. Any information would be appreciated.

I believe they are type 22NF and 51R

When I want the 'right' battery, I buy the Exide 51R's from TSC when they send me a 15% off coupon. Makes em about $75,

So the Exide 51R are physically sized correctly?

The 51R is the correct size. The 22NF is also the correct size and the 22NF has the end ridges for the RBT hold downs to clamp to.

I get the 22NF at Fleet Farm for about $55.

I can get year old 51Rs for $40 at a local junkyard, they're commonly used in Hondas.

I get my 22NF's at the local Battery Warehouse chain. Usuallly Exide's on the shelf.

Im a 51r fan myself. More cranking amps and i tend to find automotive style batteries last longer.

I bought a exact battery for my 64 landlord even had a Simplicity Logo from Jacks small engine 2 years ago it came dry so i had to add acid and charge and if i remember it was about 80 bucks might be worth a try
