huffy 2 Posted January 14, 2016 Need a new one for my cab; existing one is old and dry rotted. Anyone know where I can find one that attaches with set screws like this? All the ones I've seen attach with the J clip thingy.I intended to just drill out that pin so I could remove that set screw insert and put it in another blade, but being naturally clumsy I broke the insert. dhoadley 1,744 Posted January 15, 2016 I'm wonderin' if it wouldn't be easier to replace the arm.
BLT 718 Posted January 15, 2016 Looks like you could get just a refill,
Talntedmrgreen 1,978 Posted January 15, 2016 What is the length? Have you looked at marine supply joints? Some of those marine wipers use a small blade like this.
huffy 2 Posted January 15, 2016 Evidently they make an adapter thingy for old cars that slides onto a straight arm like that to adapt it into a J style so you can use the new-fangled blades. I did not know that.
Brettw 1,127 Posted January 15, 2016 Without seeing how it mounts, I got the complete arm assembly and blade at NAPA for mine.
huffy 2 Posted January 15, 2016 Brett: that's how I found out about the adapter. I took the arm off and took it to Thirlby Auto to see if I could find a different arm with the J hook on the end. The guy there gave me one of the adapters.

Burntime 1 Posted January 19, 2016 When I had a metal cab, I went to napa. I think the stock one was 12 inchs and I upped it to 14 inchs. Been a while but remember I was happy with it.
huffy 2 Posted January 19, 2016 Mike: the problem was not the length. The problem was finding one that attached to the arm the way that one did.
Burntime 1 Posted January 19, 2016 I fully understand. What I was saying is I got it at napa, and I improved it! Lol
