Installing Muffler Carb Snow Shield

Recommended Posts

OK, but how does the second piece get installed, the piece on the floor on the right?

Or is that piece go to something else altogether?

Extra parts?

Thanks

That second piece looks like part of the engine shield. It wraps around the upper part of the block just below the head of the engine. I don't have a photo handy but I just installed on this evening on my old 1966 Landlord.

Jason,

Thanks, you are right it is off of a different tractor Briggs 10 HP.

I found it with the exhaust heat shield, and was getting confused as to where it went.

id="quote">Jack, that is the same as the one I have, it is basically held in place with the band that wraps around the muffler portion, some members have added a homemade shield to extend below the carb.

Thanks Wayne.

Yes, I figured that out with the clamp.

I was getting confused because I had a heat shield off of a Briggs stored away with it.

I thought the two pieces in the first picture went together somehow.

What does this shield appreciably do for the tractor?

Thanks

The heat is reflected from the muffler to keep the Carb & linkages from icing up. Good Luck sm01

(My 7010 used to ice up...Then it revs way too high! the shield really helped)
