B-10 and Mott F32S rebuild

Been Meaning to get some pics posted on this rebuild and keep getting distracted... So here it go's

Started off easy enough, I knew there were a few issues going into this one. Someone has had this apart before and painted it. The paint was peeling off to the red primer in most spots. And the Mott was left in a damp area for a few years, so everything on the Mott mower were frozen solid. The frame next to the bevel gear box was cracked and someone welded it up....

and apparently did not take it apart to weld, so I had to cut the top bolt free with a grinder to getit apart!

found out where the play in the steering was coming from! Notice anything else wrong with this picture?

The two bolts for the mower mount were frozen and snapped the heads off, then while trying to extract them... one of the bushings broke off and fell inside the mower, so I had to cut the plate off and make two new bushings and then weld it all back together..!

All of the pins were frozen solid...what a fun couple of hours.Right now I've got everything sandblasted and most of the parts painted. Will put the photo's on when I get a chance

What kind of tires are those? Tru Power? They look good...As does everything else. Nice to see some more restorations going on. I love these threads! Keep it up!

Awesome work! Moat folks probably dont realize just how lucky you are to have found a Mott!!

The ol tractor has seen some interesting work. Looks like the driveshaft wore the pin that holds the rear lift rod. I have an HB112 that would do that and the noise it makes is unbearable...no idea how someone could ignore it.

Tru power on the back and the front tires are Kenda power trac tires. The Mott is definetly a rare bird. I was fortunate enough to get it, along with the original tractor it was ordered with(a B-1) that is almost complete, just need to get rear tires for it, it's sitting on a set of spare b-10 tires right now.

Went with as close to the original paint as I could with it. This B-10 I'm going to go with a Little Brighter yellow than the original.

Oh yea, check this out, I was going to put this on earlier, but forgot. I have never seen this on any of my other tractors, but the seat pan was cracked in several places so I had to tig it back together...

Very nice work!! Its very common for the fender decks to get cracked where the tube is attached underneath. I think all but maybe one of mine are cracked there.

Awesome. Those tires look bad ass! I always like to look at the before and after pics of restore jobs to see how far it has come.

Got everything wired up and got it to run today, just waiting for a few pieces to get back from chrome and put the seat on and it will be good to go. That and finish putting the Mott together. I still have to make the knives for the Mott, since there are none available any more. I have found plenty of places to get the material, only catch is.. it's a 500ft minimum order and I only need 20ft to make 88 blades. At least I will have plenty of spares. Here is a sneak peak at my next project once the Mott and B-10 are done!
