I noticed tonight that one of my rockshaft bearings is broken.

Simplicity used these flange bearings with a key on them. According to Jack's they're NLA. Any reason why I couldn't just use regular flange bearings that don't have the key on them? I know the bearing will rotate, but can't see what it would hurt that much. Does anyone know of a place that has keyed flange bearings?

Hello;

Two things you can do:

1. Use some 3M Industrial adhesive to secure a new flange bushing.

2. Use a pin to held the new bushing in place.

Hope this helps

The key keeps the wear in the bearing & prevents wear between the bearing & frame. I know I had some flanged bearings...not sure about the key??

Thanks guys. I searched a lot of sites, and couldn't find them. The only place I found that had keyed ones like that only carries up to a 3/4" bore, and I need 1".

Obviously somebody makes them, since Simplicity bought them from somebody, but danged if I can find it.

I just ordered non-keyed ones. I'll try drilling a hole going through the edge of the flange and the steel plate, and putting an expansion pin in there.
