Sunstar / Deutz front axle

Recommended Posts

Poking around here last night, I came across a very interesting topic, cross-referenced to other threads (which I saved!), about the front axle upgrade. (Have I mentioned this website ROCKS with information?) :)

My Deutz is the 3-bolt axle, with 538 hours showing on the meter (if it is working). The axle is tight, as in rusty-tight. I have gotten it to move a bit while driving it around, but not really loosened up enough to determine if there is too much play.

I was wondering if there is a "standard" for when these axles need rebuilt?

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
