seen sparks coming out of the inside of the cone clutch after tearing it back apart i found i forgot the snap ring next to the bevel gear box and it didnt take long to make a groove in the holding plate, that was a close one.

Glad that you caught it before too much damage was done. I'm getting close to assembling this section of my 917H. I'll have to remember the snap ring.
