Guest Posted February 1, 2016 The rubber piece that goes around my steering shaft is totally worn out, it is the piece that goes thru the instrument panel. Is this part available ? What is everyone else using for a fix ?
RayS 79 Posted February 1, 2016 It is part number 2157077SM and is $52. I probably have a spare I would let go.

bowhunt4life 398 Posted February 1, 2016 There is a brand new one on ebay for $75 so $52 is a good deal for NLA part.
Guest Posted February 1, 2016 I think for that price I can make something for 2 bucks or less, that will work I have some large circular solid rubber, drill a hole thru it, lil smaller than the shaft and slide it up where it needs to go. I can even go so far as to put a brass bushing in it.
rokon2813 272 Posted February 1, 2016 A set collar slides right in that tube. You can unbolt the bottom of the steering shaft. pull it up 1/2" tighten the set collar in the right place and put it back together. I've seen that collar on the steering shaft, and it is the same on the front wheel spindles. The correct part has a lip on it, so it won't slide down inside the tube. Guest Posted February 4, 2016 I have taken the set key out, sprayed with bp blaster for 3 days, tapped several times on the steering wheel it will not budge. Any ideals.
bowhunt4life 398 Posted February 6, 2016 I have taken some fine sandpaper and cleaned up the steering shaft below the steering wheel. Then I tap the steering wheel further on to the shaft. Then I'll take the fine sandpaper and clean up the steering shaft and use a puller to gently pull the steering wheel off.
