tiller for a/c 712 late model

A 1972 AC would be the 300/400 series. Only the late 1973 400 series has the same size rod as your 712 has. The 1971/1972/early 1973 had an 1-1/8" lift rod and it was shorter. Everything else is the same as needed for your 712. The lift rod (3rd point) on the tiller needs to be 1" dia. and about 6" long. Good Luck! Mike S.

found tiller on 1972 simplicity guy says its 38" does this fit my tractor an a/c 712 late model looks like it will? thanks for any help

It will fit your tractor, provided that you have a rear lift. If it is the 38", it is the heavy duty tiller and a power lift is recommended. If it's the 36", you don't need the power lift. It is easy to see the difference as the chain case for the 36" is in the center of the tiller. One the 38", there is a gearbox on top of the tiller center with a shaft the runs to the chain case. The chain case is on the right side of the tiller, as you are sitting on the tractor. Pat
