Briggs code number

I have a briggs and straton motor, but the type and the code numbers on the shroud are rusted off. Is there any other way to find out what they are?

This is what I do for numbers etc. that look to be rusted off. Use 600 grit emory cloth and WD40 and rub the area with circular motions. You're removing rust so don't rub too hard. Keep flushing the rust away with fresh WD40 squirts. When it appears that most of the rust is washed away use a flashlight across the surface ,where the numbers should be, at a really flat angle. You're shining the light across the numbers and the shadows help you see the numbers. It works best in the dark. If you are lucky the impression of the numbers should appear. Good Luck...Woody
