Horvik 31 Posted March 3, 2016 hello; I am planning on replacing the original Engine with Generator/Starter with a newer Briggs 16 HP, which has the single yellow wire charge lead ( No Generator/Starter). Do I hook up the yellow wire straight to battery? And also, will it overcharge ? Thanks
Ronald Hribar 105 Posted March 4, 2016 It should have a regulator built into system and should run wire thru ignition switch
BLT 718 Posted March 4, 2016 I have never saw a single yellow wire system. But if it is, because of the stator windings, they generally charge up to around 13.5 volts. https://www.briggsandstratton.com/~/media/Files/FAQs/BriggsAndStratton/PDFs/alternator_specifications.pdf
