Questions on Chargin

hello;

I am planning on replacing the original Engine with Generator/Starter with a newer Briggs 16 HP, which has the single yellow wire charge lead ( No Generator/Starter).

Do I hook up the yellow wire straight to battery? And also, will it overcharge ?

It should have a regulator built into system

and should run wire thru ignition switch

I have never saw a single yellow wire system. But if it is, because of the stator windings, they generally charge up to around 13.5 volts.
