You weren't one of those bidders with the shades on, were you? Somebody got a nice package deal that's for sure.

Woody, Auction ended at $870. Otherwise I'd have won (my guess was $880). I'm feeling pretty good about hitting close on my first try. Congrats Happyjack! At any rate, I think it was a steal! I'd have paid a couple hundred for the sicle bar alone (and adapted it to my 9020). Paul

Steve, I thought so too... I wonder if it's because we're used to the higher prices of New England, where these tractors don't seem to be so common. I wouldn't sell either of my tractors as a package at that price (IF I had a sicklebar), and neither are nearly as "original, good-condition" as this one appeared to be... The attachments alone are worth $700 or so, IMO...

MPH, you're obviously "trolling" but I'll take the bait and run... Come back in 5 years or so and let's talk about that $1295 "investment"... If the motor's still good, and the plastic deck hasn't cracked it'd be worth maybe $300-400 or so, at most. This one should hold its value and perhaps appreciate with TLC... plus you get the Simplicity cut.... Then, let's talk about another 10, 20, or 30 years! This tractor is already 35 years old....

Here's my 2 cents and my dirty old Big Ten which came with dirty but perfect deck, vacuum and hydraulics. Now I don't have a sickle bar but from my kidding I know you can figure out what that is worth and I don't have an AC rototiller but I paid $200 for mine from member Matt Spiece (I can't ever remember how he spells his name) and I think that is where MPH is coming from. BTW this tractor runs smoothe and powerful and starts instantly with no smoke. I can pull wheel stands. She's not pretty in this picture (not washed etc) but THIS is a bargain...And the seat is PERFECT..If I ever do sell her I'm glad for EBAY...Woody http://image.photoloft.com/opx-bin/OpxFIDISA.dll?src=/PhotoLoft/Asset18/2001/12/31/8705/8705652_0_1492.fpx,0,0,1,1,512,384,FFFFFF

Woody & MPH, I'd counter with two threads -- one where several people estimated its value at around $1200, and the one above where the buyer acknowledges that he was ready to go to $1200.... How many of these tractors this age will we see that have this low of hours and are in this condition? I don't know -- but as Dutch says, the seller and buyer(s) determine the value... not we "spectators."

That's not what I meant. I believe the final bid price could have been higher but the price I got was a bigger bargain and I came away thinking I had gotten away with something. So I was just making a very small point. I was glad to see the auction prices terminating at a more normal level..Just as they should..I really thought the final bid would have been higher.. I remember thinking that speculation on the final bid amount would help to generate a feeding frenzy since I had ideas about bidding. Adding to the interest is counterproductive to the potential bidder who at one point was me.. For example, when the post for the headlights came up I should have posted what I was thinking..$50 plus beat to hell headlights.. When that auction went past $50 I immediately went out and bought $10 a piece lights at Walmart for my soon to arrive brackets..All in all the Ebay auction for the B10 might have been a disappointment to the seller had it not been for the good-hearted nature of both the buyer and seller... I do think I misinterpreted MPH's post...I now believe he thinks it was a bargain..He'll have to straighten me out on this..Woody

Woody, Unquestionably you got a good deal -- a steal is more like it. As I told you earlier, I paid the same amount for an ugly green spray-painted Big Ten that hadn't run in 4 or 5 years... Would I personally pay that price for the B-10 -- no, but only because I have good two running tractors and I've put a lot of work into each of them.... (A deal like yours, I'd still jump on....) But, when I was looking to buy my B-210 almost four years ago, I'd have been just as pleased as Dan to get that tractor for that amount of money. I would have personally stopped at about $1,000 then... but that was more a factor of the budget I'd set for a "tool" and not a reflection on the tractor's value. ... and that was before Simple trACtors inflated their value ... ;<) But, how can calling attention to an auction "generate a feeding frenzy" on one hand and on the other "disappoint the seller?" Sounds like a contradiction to me.... Disappointing the buyer(s) by calling attention to it, perhaps, but not the seller....

Kent and Woody, I was just being sarcastic{however you spell that}. When I saw that piece of sheetmetal in one of them stores ya gotta have a card to get in, "MIGHT JUST BE A MEMBER", I really questioned why some people think 500 bucks is high for one of these real tractors and how some of you sleep at night when you make these great 100 buck scores, change the plug or add a battery and go mow. Must be I'm just grren with envy...MPH

What's that sickle bar for? Is it like what's used in Gladiator on the chariots? Like for chasing the tax assessor off your property? (kidding) Woody

Seeing what that brought has me thinking of putting my BIG TEN up on ebay, lol. The tractor is in pretty good shape and runs good. I'm only missing the arm rests for the seat. The seat is really good. I also have an allis sickle mower, mower deck and snowblower with it.

Geez guys I havn't ever won anything before this LOL :}. But to the happy owner congrats and what a deal and a half. Why the seller didn't separate the tractor from the attachments is something I wonder about. But maybe the seller just wanted to get rid of everything at one time and was satisfied with the price that he got "not" but maybe. I personally would have paid $1200 for everything and then sold what I didn't need or want just to get the tractor and mower deck. But then again I would have a hard time letting go with any part of the deal. Best to all as we all are "winners" in this one as we have another happy AC owner, >>->happyjack<-<<
