Briggs booster fan info....vanguard swap

Recommended Posts

First post here...I've got a allis built homelite t-10...well it WAS one until my cousin ran it outta oil and grenaded the rod.:(! so I've got this 30 cube horizontal vanguard 16 kicking around... What I'd like to know is if the CI booster fan will bolt up to the vanguard flywheel or do I have to buy the vanguard booster fan? Also if I get a booster fan mounted to this vanguard, will the flex plates line up? I've tried fitting a 25 hp command in it with the proper stub adapter but nothing wants to line up anyone got any other wisdom they can share about swaps in an old "homie", I've searched and found zilch.

I do not know if the booster fan is required with the Vanguard. I installed an 18 hp Vanguard from SEW and it came with an adapter from the flywheel to the driveshaft and also a mounting plate to raise the engine to the proper height. Also, if your old engine was a Kohler, you will need to change the ignition switch.
